Frequently Asked Questions

At Zinyala Private Game Reserve, we strive to ensure that our guests´ visits are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. In our pursuit of excellence, here are the most frequently asked questions for ease of mind and clarity. All guests with special requests or additional questions not answered below are welcome to contact us. We endeavour to make our feedback prompt and professional.

Check in time: 12:00pm - 7 days a week.
Check out time: 10:00am - 7 days a week.
Guests that need to book in earlier and/or depart later must please request alternate arrangements when making their reservation.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve is a fully equipped, self-catering environment.

Guests should cater for all their own food and beverage requirements as well as all toiletries and other special items.

Guests are limited to purchasing soft drinks and bottled water at the central clubhouse.

During winter months, guests are advised to bring a warm jacket, a beanie and thermal undergarments, as it can get chilly at times. It is also advisable to wear proper leather boots or thick shoes when hiking through the bush or when on game drives.

During summer months, bring shorts, swimwear, beach towels and sun screen to enjoy the long sunny days by the pool or when strolling through the reserve.

Always wear a hat and sunscreen – the African sun is not for the faint of heart.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve is situated in the Waterberg region in Limpopo Province. This area was named for the abundance of fresh unpolluted mountain water and fresh aqua springs. The entire reserve has crystal clear fresh mountain water all year round. In addition to the underground water reservoir, there are two natural springs flowing in abundance.

Guests can safely drink from all water sources, tasting the crisp and sweet mountain aqua.

In case of emergency, guests must report it to the nearest staff member. All staff members are trained to contact senior management, who will immediately assist and provide support.

In case of a medical emergency, there are accredited doctors and medical staff available in the nearest towns of Bela-Bela (Warmbaths) and Modimolle (Nylstroom), as well as both private and state hospitals and pharmacies.

As a precaution, guests should always bring along all their own medication and health related equipment when visiting Zinyala Private Game Reserve.

When making a reservation, we ask that guests advise Zinyala management of any critical illnesses or health conditions that we should be aware of; your health and safety is our main concern, so please help us to help you.

Like all game reserves, Zinyala Private Game Reserve is located in the wild and as such, we co-exist with predators, snakes and other animals.

Guests should always keep in mind that these animals are not trained and can be dangerous.

Do not engage or try to feed the animals as they are for our viewing pleasure only.

Open, controlled fires are permitted, but only at the main clubhouse or private lodge where the guests reside. No open fires are permitted in other areas of the reserve.

Guests of Zinyala Private Game Reserve caught in contravention of our strict fire policy will be escorted from the reserve without delay or exception. Please assist us in preserving our beautiful, natural heritage.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve does not have a convenience shop on the premises.

A local supply store with a limited range of groceries, soft drinks and toiletries is located approximately 2km from the main gate. Guests are permitted to make use of this store only when accompanied by a member of Zinyala management or your game ranger.

Nannies are available at R70/hour, day and night.

Guests requiring this service should please indicate this when making a reservation, prior to arrival.

Payment can be made in advance or upon arrival at Zinyala Private Game Reserve.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve has no facilities to provide guests with additional diesel or petrol.

Guests should ensure that their vehicles are filled at the nearby towns of Bela-Bela (Warmbaths) or Modimolle (Nylstroom) before venturing out to the game reserve.

In case of mechanical breakdown, a motor vehicle mechanic is available at Zinyala Private Game Reserve to do minor repairs. Guests should please consult with Zinyala management, should they require the services of the mechanic.

Strict adherence to company policy is practised for the well–being of both Zinyala Private Game Reserve staff members and guests and to ensure smooth day–to–day operation at all times.

Guests at Zinyala Private Game Reserve are requested to adhere to these policies at all times.

In the event that you would like to extend your stay, Zinyala management can grant or deny such a request at their sole discretion.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve will always endeavour to accommodate our valued clients and therefore guests are welcome to discuss their requirements with members of senior management.

When venturing out into the wild it is always preferable to do so in a 4x2 or 4x4 vehicle no matter where you go in South Africa.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve is no exception and it is preferable, but not essential, to visit in such a vehicle.

Guests can reach Zinyala Private Game Reserve in any motorised sedan vehicle. The main gate of Zinyala Private Game Reserve is approximately 19km of gravel road from where you leave the main tar road.

We ask that our guests drive safely and responsibly at all times.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve is situated in the mountain ranges of Limpopo Province. The cellular phone signal is intermittent and unreliable because of the rugged terrain. No Wi-Fi or internet connections are available.

Guests that need to make an emergency call should consult with Zinyala management for the best available signal assistance.

Zinyala Private Game Reserve is in a non-malaria area in Limpopo Province.

Guests are however encouraged to bring along mosquito repellent and sunscreen.
